  • Open Roux-en-Y Gastric bypass
  • Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric bypass
  • Adjustable Gastric Banding Procedure (LAP-BAND® System)
  • Medical Weight Management Program
  • Back On Track Program
  • Fill Program for those who had their LAP-BAND Surgery elsewhere

Optimizing laparoscopic techniques

Oregon Surgical Specialists’ surgeons are experts in the most current bariatric and LAP-BAND®  surgery techniques. Their goal is to provide the most appropriate personalized care in the least invasive manner possible. That is why our surgeons are leaders in laparoscopic procedures—the minimally invasive approach to surgery. Those patients who are candidates for this minimally invasive technique benefit from smaller incisions, reduced pain and scarring, and typically recover more quickly.

Your health

Obesity usually becomes medically defined as "morbid" when a person is more than 100 pounds his or her ideal body weight and at risk for severe health effects. These include diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, certain cancers, and depression.

Excess body fat not only affects your physical health and longevity — it can cause devastating effects on your social and personal relationships, as well as your psychological well being.
Many insurance companies now recognize obesity as a substantial health risk and cover the cost for bariatric surgery with a referral from your primary care physician.
